The journal pages

Posted on | October 19, 2006 | No Comments

I finally found time to scan and explain all of my journal background pages from Teesha Moore’s class. The class was on the 7th of October, but I took my time in making them my own.

This is the first full page in the journal. It still needs the actual journaling, but at least the background is done. I will go to the copy store today to make color copies of these pages to use in other journals and in other projects.

I like the way this page came out. It’s a good start to the journal.

This is the second page:

This came out of nowhere! He seems to have turned into a flying pimp! Not sure what’s going on here with the theme, but I love the colors and that it’s so out of my usual point of view! I did a lot of freeform work on this page, which is one of the things I like about it. I also used Lyra pencils for the background which integrated the bright pink background into it better.

Another of my favorite pages is this one:

The clouds in this picture are outlined with Sakura Souffle pens and I love the Bentley image and it turned into a really cool car that appears to be flying. The combination of blues and pinks makes this a rather soothing page for me. I see myself writing about dreams on it.

The next images in the journal is what I call one of my Blue Bubble pages.

On the left side is a neat image of a man’s face; on the right, an image of a woman’s face. (See my gallery for more images of this!) There are a lot of circles in this one on the right side, but on the left, I made the man’s body quite angular. Actually, it appears quite feminine, though I have again, no idea where that came from!

This page has some great shape to it. I might decide to add something to the upper right, but for now, I like the shapes and designs in it. I plan to definitely play with this one in Photoshop and at the color copier!

There are more examples of this work in my flickr album in the “Art Journaling” set.

I’d love to hear your comments!
