Of speaking too soon

On Friday, after my treatment, I wrote:
And today, I had my treatment, which, last month, caused me to need tons of sleep. Not this month. I have energy, I’m feeling good, and I’m at the computer and soon at the art table!
Well, I spoke too soon. Saturday morning around 3 a.m. I woke with severe nausea and other not-so-fun symptoms. At least it waited until my actual birthday was gone. But I spent Saturday completely fatigued witn on-and-off nausea. Saturday, however, was scheduled to the hilt with lunch and an afternoon wiht my mother-in-law and father-in-law, lunch out, and then dinner and a show in the evening.
Luckily, DH was driving because the 40-minute drive back from the in-laws made me really car sick. Dave drove me home and I slept in the car. We got to the house and I went straight to bed. We had theater tickes and dinner reservations for my birthday celebration (date night!), and I wanted to be awake. Dave joined me for the nap and we slept for an hour. We went to dinner at Kincaids, which was nice, but the food wasn’t all that great. We doubt we’ll be going back.
We walked the two and a half blocks to the theater on our lovely Phoenix autumn night. We had tickets for The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow. If you ever get a chance to see this play, SEE IT! I laughed SO HARD! It was awesome and captivating. She’s a techno-geek who lives at home with her parents, is OCD agoraphobic, and manages to communicate with all sorts of people through IM and email, works for the government, and builds a robot. Everyone there gave it rave reviews, too. If you get a chance, treat yourself!
Dave drove home and for some reason, again, I got car sick. I think my body was simply telling me that I should have rested more to get over the fatigue. Oh, well… So I went directly to bed after getting the mail, which included my copy of Art & Life and a journal from Serendipity for her Journal RR. I slept late (for me!) until 7:15 a.m. and then I had lots of coffee. I feel better today. I took Dave to the airport for his trip to Cleveland and stopped at OfficeMax and Michael’s and Whole Foods on the way home. I’m sitting in my studio now at the computer watching the House Marathon on USA while I clear off my studio table so I can do some art.
