My art day?

Posted on | November 8, 2006 | 3 Comments

I feel very unaccomplished today, though most of my day was spent either organizing my projects, creating background papers or other sundry things. It seems like very little of my day today was spent actually creating art. I went to the stained glass store and learned how to cut glass and got all the tools i need for soldering. Of course, I need a lesson, because I can’t seem to get the solder to melt onto the iron. I’m hoping my friend will teach me tomorrow! :)

I did make another journal to start creating pages from. I used the process from Teesha Moore’s class, and put it together rather quickly. I am going through and painting the pages and collaging them, so that’s relaxing.

I did do a page in the roving art journal that will be my last page. I finished it up this afternoon. Not my greatest work, but it’s a journal afterall… I think I’ve decided that doing art journaling is definitely something far too private for me to share in someone else’s book. I’m not comfortable with putting something “deep” out there in someone else’s journal. It’s one thing if it turns into something that I want to share, but journalng is my place to experiment with ideas, products, and design. Because I realized this, I’ve been forced to try to find a place where I’m just doing art, not necessarily journalng. I don’t think that’s what the journal’s owner was hoping for, but I can’t help how I feel about it. I did complete one page that was completely journal-like using a prompt of “What?” And that was interesting (see left)
