Art the past few days

I’ve been bad about posting. I’ve been spending time in the studio and I’ve been very focused on trying to get some art done, rather than spending time on the ! I have not finished much, but I have spent some time creating the first two layers of backgrounds for 14 or 15 small collages. I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do with them, but, of course, I never do! LOL
I am considering creating some large letters to create my own collage alphabet. I want to be able to create a set of letters that work for me. I will be able to use them full size and smaller in my artwork. It’s quite an undertaking, but the backgrounds are quite relaxing and can be used in so many ways. I will scan and use them in my artwork.

Oooh, I love those backgrounds – all those gorgeous colours! Good Luck with your alphabets, Fran. I took up Nancy’s challenge to make some recently and still haven’t used them… thanks for the reminder!

Beautiful stack of colors. I love spending a day just making background surfaces, it’s a very soothing no stress process for me.

Your backgrounds are yummy Fran! I will agree with SueB that backgrounds are very soothing and relaxing! It is great to have a variety of backgrounds to launch a collage from! And sooooo useful for many other things!

[...] And, as far as art is concerned, I mentioned yesterday that I had been working in the den yesterday doing some doodling. It turned into the project I have wanted to work on for a while, but that had been taking a long time! When you have little energy, you feel like you have a ton of time! LOL So, I took the backgrounds I made this week and began to create my own alphabet collage sheets. I’ve got some more work to do on them, but I’m pleased with how they’re coming out so far. And to the right is a sneak peek! I hope to finish them up and get different sizes ready and then get some of these up on Etsy with some collage packs I’ve been quietly working on. Yep.
