Catching up & Hanukkah Greetings

So, yes, it’s been a long and quiet week here in the land of ArtsyFran! I spent most of the week lamenting the lack of my computer and the access to my photos and other “stuff”! But I’m trying to get some things done while I’m dealing with this lack of computer. And, strangely, it appears that there are many of us who have had computer problems and who are blogging. Hmmm. Wonder if it’s something out there in the air…

I’ve been spending most of the time doing preparations for my treatment next week. That has meant preparing art journal pages for me to finish up when I have little or no energy. In the meantime, I’ve completed the beading project I started last week. You may recall that I spent the day with Angie, got the entire outside of the goddess beaded and then the thread snapped. I was frustrated. I tried to put it back together, but it didn’t work. So, I pulled the beads out completely and started agan. I finished it this afternoon and sent it off to its new home! I’m so excited to hear it arrive in Ft. Collins and to see it when I get there in January.

Tonight is a celebratory evening in our home! It’s the first night of Hanukkah and it’s also the anniversary of our first date. See, Dave and I met on a blind date and neither of us ever dated anyone esle again. In fact, we went out the next night and talked every day and then went out again. It wasn’t long before we were totally in love. So, tonight we do our usual Friday evening relaxed burger, and tomorrow we go out to a swanky restaurant and celebrate.

In the meantime, I’ve gotten Dave a little present. We used to not give each other presents, but this year, I’ve started to get him things just to let him know I’m thinking of him. I framed the two collages I made for him. He has no idea that when he walks in the house these will be waiting for him. And I know he isn’t reading my blog right now, because he’s on his way home from work!  

Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate it. We’re certainly going to celebrate tonight!
