I took this image and put it on fabric (thanks to my trusty ink jet and some fabric from The Vintage Workshop) and then did some embroidery to bring out some of her features. I got into this and realized that I didn’t want to do too much because if I added beads, it would probably kill the sewing machine needle. Now, what you need to know is that I have taken exactly one class on sewing. And that was about 10 years ago. So I continue to fight with my sewing machine and I can’t do much more than sew a straight stitch or zig zag. In fact, I couldn’t even load my bobbin without the use of the darned manual, never mind inserting it back in the case! But I soldiered on. And I like where she’s going. She needs some sequins perhaps and some beads, and maybe some trim, and I need to play with my machine more, but honestly, I’m fairly pleased with this first attempt.
