Inchies not for me and sharing some more art

Inchies in Kathy's JournalI made some inchies today. They came out fine, but I found the size tooKathy's CJ - couple restricting for me. It’s not my style. But here’s what I did with them. I put them in Kathy’s journal, which I have for the Calendar Round Robin I’m doing. I don’t foresee myself doing more inchies – unless they’re part of a bigger piece like this one – even though they weren’t connected at all…

And, since I’m posting some pages, I figured I’d post where I am with the rest of Kathy’s pages. To the right is a scan of an old photo I got (probably at an antique fair, but I can’t remember) and collaged onto a background. I’ve wondered what to do with this for a while, and it just seemed to fit in Kathy’s CJ! I hope she likes this.

This page is also for Kathy’s CJ. Kathy asked us to list 50 things about ourselves in her Journal. 50 Things - Journal PageI attached an envelope, decorated it, and put together a booklet of 50 things about me with some paint strips from the hardware store. (Yes, I’m going through my stash and finding things that I just have to USE already!) The envelope is colored with Neocolors, which I sealed with Gel Matte Medium. I added this netting I’ve had (don’t ask how long… I just know I bought it when I was teaching at Paper Source in Kansas City, which means at least 2 1/2 years… oy!), and used some of the woven watercolor paper I’ve made with the Color Mists.Bird Page in progress - Kathy's CJ

And finally, this page to the right is a page I’m still in process with. I printed out one of my birds from a few weeks ago and I put it as the central piece in the collage on this page for Kathy’s Calendar Journal. It still needs a lot of work. Kathy wants us to sign in on the first page, and this page is the first page for February. I’ll work on it some more tonight while we watch television.

OK. That’s it for me. :)

They all look great, as usual. I really like the inchie page, tho I know it would be a bit wee small for me too! And I love the way you attached the woven strips (looks medallion-like) and your envelope. I just love your work Fran! xo bj

I think the inche x inche format is difficult too, but I love your woven art pieces here, and the vintage couple has a very cool background!
