The studio gets some color

I spent most of the weekend doing everything but art.
I put up my art on the walls on Friday (See the promised images on the left and right of this text!) and part of the Saturday I reorganized most of my studio space so that I could be ready for the IV treatment I had yesterday. I’m always fatigued a day after, and I will often sit in the den. But I was determined to give myself some space in the studio to relax again. So here I sit the the cozy chair, catching up on email and blogs, blogging, and in a moment doing some art journaling or needlepoint.
I’m pretty tired, since I overdid it this weekend. The cleaning out of the studio required a lot of bending and lifting, which is not something I’m supposed to do a lot of. It’s the problem with having a balance disorder. But, as the nurse said to me yesterday, “At some point, you just need to live your life.” Amen. Besides the big clean out, I did make 3 capes for my niece’s party, but they just don’t look like much of anything when they’re not on a child, so the photos just look like two pieces of rayon sewn together! I will get photos at the party. I also saw a friend who was in Glendale for a local stamp and scrapbooking show and then went to the Rembrandt exhibit at a private showing on Saturday evening. To say the least, I overdid it.
I ended up having vertigo during my treatment. Not from the treatment, just from the overdoing it. So instead of being at the infusion center for two hours, I was there for six. I slept, listened to Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking and some music on my iPod. Since the infusion is at DH’s office, he came and brought me lunch and took me home at the end of the day. He takes such good care of me!
Today I sit in the newly-organized studio space with the laptop and some art journaling stuff next to me. I brought in a lamp so I have light above the chair. And I’m gong to be napping in a bit. Seriously. My little comfy chair was the best $20 I ever spent at a garage sale! LOL
OK. I am going to do some artsy stuff… or sleep…
