So many dear notes

Dear friends,
Many of you have written concerned about my health. Thank you so much. I have often wondered what people could possibly think of me writing about my health struggles, but I’m usually not quite this public about them. However, I’m glad I have been. I think it’s important that people with chronic illness share their experiences with others. It makes us all feel less alone. Please know that I am doing well overall and that I do hope to continue on this path. Mostly, please know that your words of encouragement and support mean more to me than you could ever know! I have been doing some limited art – needlepoint and some journal pages in Kathy’s journal for our RR.
To catch you all up, I have spent the past three days recovering from my treatment. Today I spent the day preparing for my trip. (Here’s hoping that the weather will cooperate and that the flights won’t be too backed up for our travel to Baltimore. DH and I are to visit our niece who turned 6 last week.) DH is the entertainment, as I think I mentioned in an earlier post. I have completed the capes, and I am working on finishing up the last minute things we do before a trip, and I am getting ready for the long flight. In the past I have done some art journaling on a plane; however, this time I am determined to do some of the needlepoint that I have been working on forever! I have my iPod loaded with the rest of Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking, which I will listen to on the flight, and I have my other happy songs loaded. I will also bring my laptop on the plane and perhaps I will do some work for my husband’s practice. We shall see how that 5-hour flight goes – all depends upon how much my body rebels from the travel!
I look forward to taking many photos this weekend and to sharing the photos of DH’s “act” and of the family here on the blog. I also hope to finish one of my needlepoint pieces and to begin another one. The floss is all sorted out and pre-cut to size so there will be no problem with scissors. I have the scissors packed in a separate bag that will go in my checked luggage. I have my winter coat, my scarf, and many layers to provide me with some form of warmth while we are there… It should be interesting to be in such cold weather for the first time in almost 2 years. And, honestly, we’d not travel this far for 3 days for many reasons but family… I hope to be able to blog some while I’m gone, but if I don’t, I wish you all a fabulous weekend!
