Bird Fat Book Pages
Posted on | March 29, 2007 | 3 Comments
I have finally finished the pages for the fat book I signed up for late last fall. It is due next week. Nothing like waiting until the last minute for actually putting it together.
You may recall that back in this post I had tried to figure out the basic design of the front. Well, to the left, you can see the final design of the front of this page is on the left and the back on the right. The page that will be the front is all hand-painted pieces and collaged. I scanned the pieces and added the birds on each individual page. The back is from one of my photos that I took in Hawaii. The goose was flipped horizontally to fit into the scene and then collaged on. The pages are not quite what I was picturing, but to be honest, I don’t think I can do 30 of anything and be happy with it. They’re all different to some extent: The text is handwritten; I added some shading and outlining to the birds on the front… but there’s something about doing 30 of anything makes me tired and fatigued.
Anyway, there it is. The final page. I have more art to post, but it’s time to get ready for dinner.

Fran, your bird pages look beautiful – and you have to do 29, not 30 (someone dropped out). It’s going to be one great book.
