[...] DJ, in her generosity, thanked us by showing us the art she taught at the retreat in Kauai. And then she was kind enough to share some of her techniques with us. To the right is the portrait I painted from one of the drawings I created last week. Now the most interesting thing, besides the technique and the fact that I love the work I did with DJ’s support, was that Angie and I were in the same room for an entire day, but we hardly talked. And, well, then my hands were already all sticky and paint-covered, so I figured, what the heck? I’ll do my letters, which have been sitting here since Kansas City almost 3 years ago, painted an awful mustard color… So, I did those, too! Fran, the ART piece is wonderful (I suspect I know the recipient and, if correct, know she will love it). Your sketches look great to me.

I think your sketches look great! I’d love to see how you paint them. I haven’t painted faces yet with acrylics, although I’d love to learn how.
