A good day

Posted on | April 11, 2007 |

Yesterday, I had my IV treatment. Now, in the past, this has caused me to be flat on my back and nauseous for a couple of days afterwards. Yesterday, however, we tried something different. We slowed down the infusion time and Angie came to visit. :) Well, I’m excited to say that I was able to spend the entire day in the studio today! This is HUGE! Usually after treatment, I was on the couch in the den with the TiVo remote in my hand, some chick flicks, and lots of anti-nausea medication! I thank Angie for being there, keeping my mind off the treatment. And I thank the staff at the infusion center who suggested I take my anti-nausea medication before we started.Organization efforts

Not one to look a gift day in the mouth (yes, a mixed metaphor!), but I was not going to pass up a day when I felt good. So, I continued my efforts to organize my beads and wire. I labeled some of my containers, split out the beads by type and/or color, and put all of my wire into one box. Let me say, that I am so happy to have that organized! I went from having six boxes of disorganized mess Journal for CaC Swap - For Susanthat I was afraid to go anywhere near, to having four that are organized and not overstuffed. Things are labeled and I know what I have! And I have a LOT of wire. I need to start using it, I think. Click on the picture on the right to see how I have organized my studio (if you’re interested!). :)
And after that was done and I vacuumed up the studio, I decided to go ahead and create the journal I have promised to trade with Susan who is my CaC journal swap partner. I hope she enjoys it. I had fun making it with vintage ephemera I have unearthed in the past few weeks of organizing. It feels good to actually USE the stuff I have, rather than hoard it! The best part was that I knew exactly where the ribbon was that I wanted to use and I easily found the button for the closure. The illustration is from one of the books I have used for text on the pages. It was a fun project to reward myself with after doing more organizing. I have learned that I have to give myself time for the art side to come out!

Good night and I’ll see you all tomorrow!

Fran, I’m impressed with your organization . I know it’s got to help when you make art, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. The journal looks great. How nice that you got a visit with Angie and a better time at your treatment. I hope this continues with the rest of your treatments.

The images here are a real plus to help us follow along and peek behind the scenes. Your organization photos are a real treat and your list of stuff done amazes me!
