Inspiration in the Mail

I have begun to participate more in Create a Connection. I did the swap this month, which was a box swap. We were to create a box or fill a box with goodies. The idea is that getting mail makes us excited and we feel loved. And that’s so true. I LOVE getting mail that is addressed to me, but is not a bill. So I participated in this. We were assigned one person to send to and another person would send to us. A way to create connections across Blogland.
I sent to Mary Ann. She posted about what I sent to her here.

Swap Box Received! Maria sent me a fun box of goodies. I was so excited to jump in and touch all the cool stuff and textures and well, I did. and I took another photo of the fun things because there are some you just cannot see from the top view of the box. So, to the left, you see the “staged” picture! FUN and BRIGHT and lovely. Thank you so much, Maria!Box of Goodies!

In addition to this, I received an envelope from Tracey. Tracey mentioned in an IM session that she loves to use her “China Markers” in her journal. I had only ever seen black and red China Markers, so I was confused. Well, Tracey offered to pick up one each of the colors. So now, I have 8 China Markers of different colors! They’re on the right!

China MarkersI also received the rest of my Amazon order in the mail. I received Everyday Matters and Wide Open. They could not have come at a better time. It was one of those days when I just didn’t know where to turn in the studio. And now I am filled with a ton of different ideas to start moving. I’m reminded by both of these books to just jump in and not to plan. I know this. I remind myself of this a lot. But today I just could not remember. Maybe because I was still so tired from the weekend. Maybe because I finished my journal quilt – for APRIL – and it did not at all come out as I had hoped it would. So I was frustrated. I haven’t posted it here. And I am not sure I will. I tried to start working on the May quilt, and I printed out a piece of artwork to use, but did not start working on it. That’s when I got stuck.

Thank you to all who have sent me packages. I cannot tell you how awesome it feels to get loving things.

[...] I have also been involved in a monthly Quilt Journal challenge, but you have not heard anything about it from me for a while. I have gotten, well, behind. April’s quilt was finally completed today. I thought it had been completed yesterday, but after staring at it and mentioning it in yesterday’s post, I knew there was something still wrong with it.
