Painting today

Today I had a quiet day to myself. I needed that. I needed to just sit in the studio, heat up coffee and leftovers, and spend most of my time up to my elbows (quite literally!) with paint. It had been a while since I had a day like this, and it was good to get back to the brushes and acrylic paints.
I had a very focused but relaxing day. I completed one of four portraits I’m working on; the other three I’m working on are in different stages. Here’s the one I completed today. She’s a bit blurry – sorry about that, I’ll try to get you a scan tomorrow, but the paint needs to cure more before I slap it on the scanner! I hope you can get an idea of her. I enjoyed playing today and I’m trying some new things, too. I hope to have more to share tomorrow!

She’s lovely. You had a very productive day. I love the bacground. It somehow seems to add to her character.

This is wonderful. You are very good at drawing and painting. Something I have never been able to do. I admire anyone that can.
