Giving Thanks, Family and Recuperating

I started to write this post last Monday! I still feel a need to catch you all up on everything, so here it is as it was originally written:
I can’t believe it’s been over 2 weeks that we’ve been home from Kauai! I spent the first week back recuperating from travel’s strain on my body. It always takes a few days for me to recover from the stress of a trip – even one as relaxing as the trip to Kauai!
Monday before Thanksgiving I had my treatment. I spent time in-between recuperating, making Thanksgiving dinner. We brought the dinner over to my MIL and FIL’s home. We also celebrated my
FIL’s birthday with a fat-free chocolate cake. It was a nice day, even if I was completely exhausted by the end of it!
There is much to be thankful for – Yesterday I was honored to receive a gift from a friend, Karen Campbell. Karen and I participated in an original art swap. We were each randomly assigned people. I have posted the dolls I sent to my two artists. This is one of the pieces I received. It’s Karen’s first fabric book. And it’s absolutely amazing! I’m constantly picking it up and noticing something new in the design. It’s such a beautiful book and I’m so honored to have one of Karen’s artworks in my home!
Dave and I spent some quiet time this weekend, just relaxing and watching movies. It’s what we both needed in-between his on-call time. It was a busy call weekend for him, but he was happy to be able to relax a bit in-between rounds.
Next weekend we have a girls’ weekend scheduled – Angie and I, that is! We’re going up to Prescott for a weekend of art, shopping, and gallery browsing!
