Studio Friday a day late
Posted on | January 13, 2007 |
Studio Friday’s topic is “Travel” and since Friday was spent in loopy land, I am posting my response now!
Travel, which I was supposed to do this weekend, is always physically difficult for me; however, I do love it. It is an opportunity to visit family and friends; to take photos of things that inspire me and that I might want to paint or recreate; an opportunity to people watch; and an opportunity to just “be”. To the right ou will see some photos from my fun (i.e., not business) travels over the past 18 months.
We have quite a bit of travel planned in the next few months. I do better when I don’t travel alone, since if I’m not feeling well my husband is there for me. Next month, we head to Washington, DC, where my husband, Dave, will be performing magic and ventriloquism for our niece, Eliana. I’ve just planned a trip for March. Dave and I will be going to two islands we have not yet been to n Hawaii. We are looking forward to a lot of photos, relaxation, and nature. In April, we’ll be back in Boston for a medical conference and to visit friends. Sometime before the summer, we’re planning to head to Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando to visit other family and friends. It’s a lot more travel than I usually do, but it’s time with my husband and with family. And that is important to both of us.
No matter where we go, our travels will include my watercolor travel kit, pens, and a sketchbook! Where have you traveled lately?

Fran, I know what you mean about travel being time with husband and family. Even business trips are considered mini-vacations to me and my husband; there’s always part of the trip when you’re not working - time to explore, eat, and check out the neighborhood, if that’s all you can manage! Have fun in your travels this year!
